Capital Campaign Update – December 4, 2025

The renovation work in the Stormes Complex continues to proceed according to plan.  Upon demolition of the ceiling in the Parish Hall we were pleasantly surprised to find that the interior ceiling is heart of pine wood and is in beautiful condition.  This presents us with a wonderful opportunity to preserve it and we are hoping to do so. We’ve included a couple of photos below that show the exposed ceiling and trusses after the ceiling tiles, ceiling grid and air conditioning ducts were removed.

We also wanted to share that a Visioning Team has been formed to help us develop options for the spaces now available to us as a result of taking down the two outbuildings, the classrooms and preserving the former school library building. While the Capital Campaign scope did not include these areas, we recognize that there are potential short-term and long terms uses for those spaces that we should consider.

On Sunday, December 14, we will be offering tours of the Parish Hall and Middle section at 9:00 am and again at 11:30 for anyone interested in seeing the progress we’ve made.  If you are interested, please meet at the entrance to the Parish Hall where members of the building committee will provide walkthroughs.
